Lauren and Jason don’t feel like a love story that was carefully constructed, they feel like something that just is. Effortless, a little chaotic, deeply rooted, and built on the kind of friendship that makes everything else fall into place. From the beginning, they described themselves as “always doing bits,” never taking life too seriously, and that energy carried through every second of their day. They met at a dive bar near Wright State, did the long-distance thing, and then Jason packed up his life to be with Lauren, because when it’s right, you don’t overthink it. Since then, life has thrown its fair share at them, and instead of breaking anything, it just made them stronger, more solid, more them. You can feel that in the way they exist together. Completely unforced, always on the same team.
Their wedding day mirrored that same energy. It wasn’t rigid or overly structured, it just flowed. The morning at The Brightside felt calm and grounded, filled with music, laughter, and that quiet anticipation that builds without tipping into chaos. When they saw each other for the first time, it wasn’t a big production. It was intimate, steady, like taking a breath before everything else began. Their ceremony, timed intentionally at 3:33, was simple and deeply personal, centered around a handfasting that felt less like a performance and more like a promise. No theatrics, no filler, just a room full of people who love them, witnessing something real.
As the night unfolded, everything shifted into celebration without losing that sense of intention. Their first dance to “Work Song” felt heavy in the best way. Emotional, grounding, full of meaning.... and then the energy cracked wide open. Lauren stepping into her role in Cherry Yum Yum and kicking off the dance floor set the tone for the rest of the night: loud, joyful, a little sweaty, and completely uninhibited. Nothing about their wedding felt staged or forced. It was moody, romantic, a little spooky, and entirely centered on connection, on good music, their people, and a love that doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. Just steady, intentional, and very, very real.
Every wedding takes a team, this one of the best I’ve ever worked with!
